Are you an employer interested in establishing a “culture of health” at your business?

Western Nebraska Community College will host a presentation on “Achieving a Culture of Health” by Dr. Judd Allen on Oct. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Harms Advanced Technology Center.

More than 80 percent of employees attempt some form of lifestyle improvement annually, though less than 20 percent reach and sustain long-term goals, Scotts Bluff County Wellness Coalition Coordinator Terri Allen said in a press release. Wellness professionals “have learned that you can’t put a changed person back in the same environment and expect the change to last,” Terri Allen said.

In Allen’s presentation, he covers the efforts that worksite wellness programs can undertake to establish a “supportive culture” and helping employees create a wellness culture in their own homes. Allen is president of the Human Resources Institue, LLC, a research, publishing and consulting firm. For mor information, visit www.healthyculture.com.

He earned his Ph.D. in Community Psychology from New York University and serves on the editorial board of the American Journal of Health Promotion. Dr. Allen is a member of the board of directors of the National Wellness Institute. His most recent books are “Bringing Wellness Home”, “Wellness Leadership” and “Healthy Habits, Helpful Friends.”

For more information on the presentation, contact Terri Allen, Scotts Bluff County Worksite wellness coordinator, at 308-631-044 or email tawellness@hotmail.com.
